Digital Books

Using SORA by OverDrive, you can borrow eBooks using your student ID and enjoy them immediately on your computer, tablet, smartphone, or eReader. You can also download digital books to a computer or mobile device. Ask a librarian for your user name and password. This guide will help you get started with SORA.

SORA by OverDrive

The library has a set of Kindle Paperwhites available for loan to boys in the Middle and Upper schools. Boys can choose up to three books from our SORA eBook collection that we will load onto a Kindle for them.
Boys and parents must fill out a Kindle User Agreement. We keep this agreement on file for the remainder of a student's time at A-S.

E-Books in the Catalog

The library has a growing collection of eBooks that support the curriculum and are intended for pleasure reading. eBooks may be accessed via Destiny Discover. Access Destiny Discover's digital books by logging into the library catalog using your assigned username and password (boys in fourth grade and above).

Expertly narrated audio books are a wonderful way to experience books whether at home or on the move. The A-S library has a terrific collection of CD-Book Packs, Playaways™, and downloadable audiobooks for all ages.

A-S Audiobook Collection

CD Book Packs
A-S has a sizable collection of Readalong CD-Book Packs for boys just learning to read.  This wonderful set is housed in the Lower School Reading Room (the Egg).
Playaway™ Collection
A Playaway™ is a book that has been pre-loaded onto a device the size of a pack of playing cards. You can listen to a Playaway™ using earbuds or by connecting it to a sound system using an aux cord.
Digital downloads give you 24-hour access to audiobooks. They can be played on mobile devices including smartphones, iPods, and iPads as well as on computers. Learn how to access our SORA collection using the Sora App, which is curated for Middle and Upper School students as well as for adults, with these instructions.
